I have ranked these books based on the following criteria:

  • The quality of the research and scholarship. I looked for books that were based on sound research.
  • The clarity and readability of the writing. They are well-written and are easy to understand.
  • The relevance of the content to my interests. I chose books that I personally read and thought would be most interesting and informative to you.

1. 101 Quotes To Change You And Your Life: Best Quotes of All Time to Level Up Your Life

Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari book on human psychology and human nature

Rating: ★★★★★ (4.9/5)

FAVOURITE QUOTE:

“The only thing that stands between you and your goal is the story you keep telling yourself about why you can’t achieve it.”

The number one reason why I put this book in the first place is its quotes. In this book, each page has a quote that will make you stop and think about it.

This book was recommended to me by a friend a few weeks ago.

The first time I read this book, I felt like, “No, man, I still have something great to accomplish in my life, and I can do anything.”

Each quote was a reminder to me that I have unlimited potential, and the only thing stopping me is my own thoughts.

I always carry this book with me. Whenever I feel low, I just read it.

Another reason this book takes the number one spot is that, along with each quote, it also contains the meaning of that quote.

This is something I didn’t find in other quote books. Plus, its price is also reasonable.

PROS:

  • Very good quotes.
  • Meaning of each quote included.
  • Decent Price

CONS:

  • Contains only 101 quotes.

2. 100 Quotes That Will Change Your life

Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman book on human psychology and human nature

Rating: ★★★★★ (4.8/5)

FAVOURITE QUOTE:

“When you focus on you, you grow.

When you focus on shit, shit grows”

This book also contains amazing quotes like the one above.

Now, you might be wondering why this book is ranked second. The reason is that it doesn’t include the meanings of the quotes, unlike the previous one.

While it has really good quotes, it lacks explanations, and its price is also very high.

I don’t believe a quote book should be priced so steeply.

If you’re confused about which book to buy between first and second, I would recommend the first one.

I have read both of these books, and I really prefer the first one because it not only contains great quotes but also provides their meanings, and its price is very reasonable.

However, if price is not a concern for you, then this book is also a very good choice.

PROS:

  • Very good quotes.

CONS:

  • High price.
  • Contains only 100 quotes.

3. 365 Quotes to Live Your Life By: Powerful, Inspiring, & Life-Changing Words of Wisdom to Brighten Up Your Days (Master Your Mind, Revolutionize Your Life Series)

Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us by Daniel H. Pink book on human psychology and human nature

Rating: ★★★★★ (4.78/5)

FAVOURITE QUOTE:

“No matter what your choices are, you truly have no control about what people think of you.”

This book is interesting & uplifting. The author gives many examples of mostly famous quotes to help you focus on his 7 thoughts:

Focus on what you can control, not on what you can’t control. Focus on the positive, not on the negative. Focus on what you can do, not on what you cannot do.

Focus on what you have, not on what you do not have.. Focus on the present, not on the past & future.

Focus on what you need, not on what you want. Focus on what you can give, not on what you can take.

These wise thoughts are shown in each quote. This is a book you can come back to in many situations.

It is an easy read.

The above two books only had about 100 quotes but this has a lot of quotes. so it is great for those who want to read a lot of quotes.

PROS:

  • Wide variety of quotes.
  • Decent price

CONS:

  • No meaning.
  • Since it has a lot of quotes, it may be difficult for you to find the best one.

4. The Funniest Quotes Book: 1001 of the Best Humourous Quotations

Rating: ★★★★★ (4.7/5)

FAVOURITE QUOTE:

“A fine quotation is a diamond in the hand of a man of wit and a pebble in the hand of a fool.”

If you are looking for some funny quotes then this is the right book for you.

This book is a collection of 1001 funniest quotes from numerous sources and are arranged by themes.

PROS:

  • Wide variety of quotes.
  • Low price.

CONS:

  • Many quotes are not funny.

5. The Big Book of Quotes: Funny, Inspirational and Motivational Quotes on Life, Love and Much Else

Emotional Intelligence book on human psychology and human nature

Rating: ★★★★★ (4.7/5)

FAVOURITE QUOTE:

“He who seeks equality amongst unequals seeks the absurd.”

This book has over 3,500 quotes, sharing the words of wisdom from the greats.

Yes, over 3,500, which means you will never lack quotes and will have a variety of quotes for every thought, occasion, and feeling.

And I also love that all the quotes are categorized into different categories, which makes it easy for readers to find the type of quote they want to read at the moment.

PROS:

  • Wide variety of quotes.

CONS:

  • Little high price.
  • Finding some best quotes from all these 3,500 can be a headache.

6. The Stoic Book of Quotes: Over 500 Philosophical Quotations for Inspiration, Achieving Inner Peace, Resilience, and Growth in Your Daily Life

The Power of Habit book on human psychology and human nature

Rating: ★★★★★ (4.7/5)

FAVOURITE QUOTE:

“”Now is the time to get serious about living your ideals. How long can you afford to put off who you really want to be? Your nobler self cannot wait any longer.”

This Stoic Book of Quotes is a comprehensive collection of over 500 philosophical quotations and insights from the greatest Stoic philosophers, including Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus, Seneca, and others. It is designed to provide daily inspiration and guide you toward greater resilience, inner peace, and personal growth.

In this each quotation has been carefully selected to resonate with contemporary readers, offering timeless wisdom applicable to the challenges and opportunities of modern life.

CONS:

  • It only contains quotes related to Stoicism.

7. 365 Best Inspirational Quotes: Daily Motivation For Your Best Year Ever

Stumbling on Happiness by Daniel Gilbert book on human psychology and human nature

Rating: ★★★★★ (4.6/5)

FAVOURITE QUOTE:

“Life isn’t about getting and having, it’s about giving and being.”

This book provides a wealth of inspirational quotes. These quotes are able to help you turn any bad situation around into something positive.

This book looks a really nice source of inspiring quotes for every day. But personally I think that such kind of books could be even more motivating with some simple pictures or doodles.

PROS:

  • Has FREE Bonus
    • BONUS 1: Access To Online Video “6 Things Successful People Do To Get & Stay Motivated”
    • BONUS 2: 3 Activities To Discover Your Life’s True Purpose.
  • Low price
  • Varieties of Quotes

CONS:

  • No explanation of quotes.

8. Ageless Wisdom: A Treasury of Quotes to Motivate & Inspire

Behave: The Biology of Humans at Their Best and Worst by Robert Sapolsky book on human psychology and human nature

Rating: ★★★★★ (4.6/5)

FAVOURITE QUOTE:

“A man that does not know how to be angry does not know how to be good.”

This is also a very good book! I enjoy reading a quote or two from it each morning as I start my day.

It is organized into perfect categories, making it easy to find a quote for inspiration in a specific area.

However, the reason I ranked this book last is because it is overpriced. All the books I mentioned earlier have great content—some with fewer quotes but of high quality, and others with a lot of quotes but reasonably priced.

But this book, however, is more overpriced than the others, which is why I placed it last.

PROS:

  • Wide variety of quotes.
  • Quotes are well categorized.

CONS:

  • Very high price.
  • No explanation of quotes.

Conclusion:

So  if you were looking for some popular books that contain motivational quotes or sayings then above are the ones you should read.

Let me tell you that the recommendations I’ve given for the above books are based on my personal experience—what I have read and felt about these books.

I also want to mention that none of the books mentioned above are sponsored or included because someone paid me to rank them according to their preference.

I have ranked these based on my personal experience after reading all of the books I’ve mentioned above.

I have read more books, but these are the eight that I really think you should read.

Now, I want to know: which book do you like? Let us hear your thoughts!

How to Get More From Any Book

  • To get more out of every book you read, You start by reading books that you enjoy the most, such as fiction, non-fiction, romance, or horror. Keep reading those books until you develop a habit of reading any kind of book (“Read What You Love Until You Love To Read”).
  • If you read with a Kindle (highly recommended), check out Readwise, a tool that allows you to access and learn from all of the highlights and notes you make while you read.
  • If you struggle to read, try listening to audiobooks with Amazon Audible.
